I already own a pair of Fiskars PowerArc scissors that have performed consistently well for me throughout the years so when my pruners broke I decided to try the brand. I bought this pair simply because as it turns out, they were the #1 best seller and the price. I couldn’t be happier!
I’ve been using them for a few weeks now and have been cutting through a variety of woody, and non-woody stems measuring maybe an 1 inch or less diameter with ease: small/underdeveloped tree branches (elm, bougainvillea & crape myrtle), vines (smilax/greenbriar/wisteria/morning glory) and any other undesirable growths that have sprung up. I have small hands and weak wrists so I appreciate the light weight and not having to apply a great amount of force when cutting. Other things I like:
1. The blades are super sharp and the handles are comfortable enough for better maneuverability when working in hard-to-reach or tight spots.
2. The cuts have all been consistently clean & sharp so less chance of disease from a torn/shredded/ragged improper cut and better chances of a faster healing time.
3. There is better edge retention with high quality steel blades so it requires less frequency to sharpen your blades and less chance of working with dull blades during the season. Granted, it’s based on volume but I hope to sharpen only once during a season. I admit it. I hate sharpening blades and that makes me guilty of using a dull blade longer than I should. Time will tell on this pair.
4. The locking mechanism works as it should and is bright orange which makes it easy to see, store & operate.
5. Nice touch having the self-cleaning sap groove that in addition to stopping the blades from sticking, will aid in the prevention of bacteria transmission from plant to plant.
6. Coil/spring failure has been my biggest issue with pruners in the past. – They rust, spring out, lock in place, don’t have pressure etc. They are a fix and repair daily while pruning project. They have turned a simple task into one of the most frustrating projects on the planet. The Fiskars has no visible coils or springs, they’re housed inside the unit and function smoothly like shock absorbers on a car. So far, working without malfunctions has allowed me to develop a rhythm and get more accomplished without straining my wrist.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the performance, quality, and price. Getting rid of all the other pairs. I also noticed that these are the only pruners I have with their name etched on it. Definitely 5 stars!!! -P.S. These come with a lifetime guarantee.

This set of pruning sheers is fantastic, I wish I’d bought them sooner. The Fiskars brand is quality. These are heavy in the hand and overall very well made and quality. The low-friction blade coating makes for the smoothest cuts. I purchased these to do light hand-pruning on my fruit trees and I am impressed.
My favorite feature about these sheers is the spring mechanism that they employ, it is hidden within the metal of the cutters and has no chance of falling off or falling out. Secondly, the locking mechanism is better than the flip tab, it slides into place and locks so there’s no chance of them becoming locked by accident.

The Fiskars Bypass Pruning Shears have been an absolute favorite in our household, especially for my mom, who loves gardening. These 5/8” garden clippers are incredibly easy to hold, even for her arthritic fingers, which makes a huge difference in her gardening experience. The ergonomic design ensures she can use them comfortably without straining her hands.
The precision-ground steel blade is exceptionally sharp and cuts through plants effortlessly, allowing for clean and precise cuts every time. This has made her gardening tasks much more efficient and enjoyable. The shears are durable and have held up well with regular use, showing no signs of dulling or wear.
For anyone who loves gardening, these pruning shears are a must-have. They combine ease of use with superior cutting performance, making them perfect for both novice and experienced gardeners. Highly recommended!

I’ve had one pair of these for several years. Saw this sale price and ordered two more, one for hubby and one for gift giving. They stay sharp, are easy and comfortable to use, and they have a lifetime warranty. You may be thinking, “Yea, lifetime warranty, right”. Well, I think they can offer that because they know most of their products won’t be bad. I’ve used other Fiskars products for years as well, and only once did I have a problem. A little rotary cutter broke where the blade was attached. I contacted Fiskars, described the product and sent a photo. The very nice customer service rep said they would immediately replace it free of charge. About a week later it arrived. So I trust Fiskars to stand behind their products should the need arise. Highly recommended.

These are good pruners, I have had 2 pairs of these for many years. I bought this pair for my daughter and she commented on how nice they were. As you may know, good pruners are important for yard work and spending a little more is well worth it so that they work and they don’t have to be replaced– I have yet to replace mine and they are at least 10 years old.

It is easy to hold and it cut first time threw. I feel it is durable, a good size, and weight.

They are sharp and easily cut through some of the little bit larger around limbs that need trimmed or pruned back. We just bought a house that the yard work was not kept up on and I finally decided that all the bushes and trees are getting a good trim/prunning this year. I’ve been able to get 3 -4 large bushes trimmed in a couple hours with the smooth clipping of these shears. And all the bushes are down half the size they were when I started.

Now why would anyone in her right mind without a plant in sight consider these compact garden pruners perfect for a toolbox on the 22nd floor of a Manhattan high rise apartment? Well, it’s very simple. To safely open defiant clamshell containers. To cut the branches off a live Christmas tree when dead and needing removal. To slice heavy cardboard shipping packaging that going at with a sharp knife is not advisable.
Yes. That is what I use these compact, sturdy shears for now, frequently, as a person with weak hands beset by carpal tunnel syndrome. And yes, when secured, they stay secure and are quite safe.
And why did I purchase this particular model? Because a similar pair had been a lifelong friend and essential tool when I did have a garden, and landscaping, and pruned many a shrub for many many years. I couldn’t have been more pleased with them then for the use that they are intended, and I am certainly pleased with them now, helping me out for uses not quite intended by the manufacturer.

I use these shears about everyday, ranging from cutting twine for garden and pruning leaves, very sharp shears and who doesn’t trust the fiskers brand. Durability of the product is unatched as well as comfort. Fits very snug within a average size hand without having too much Weight. Also the ease of cleaning for this product makes buying another set seem ideal in the future. Highly recommend!

It works well for it’s size. Is able to cut or prune small small branches and plants. It’s not gonna cut easily through bigger branches necessarily.
Probably my only annoyance is that it’s not spring loaded open, so when you cut with one hand…it kind of stays closed which makes it hard to cut multiple branches in a row without using your other hand to open it more.

Bought this for my mom, and she has no complaints. Cuts through stuff quite well, and makes it easy to use with one hand. However, if you have some smaller/weaker hands, it’s a little harder to grip. But for my mom’s hands, it was fine.
